PBA Player John Amores Surrenders After Alleged Shooting Incident Over Basketball Dispute

PBA player John Anthony Amores turned himself in to the Lumban Police in Laguna early Thursday, September 26, 2024, at around 1:55 AM. The NorthPort Batang Pier shooting guard is accused of shooting at Lee Cacalda, a resident of Barangay Maytalang Uno, Lumban, Laguna, following a heated argument during a basketball game.
Amores now faces charges of attempted murder.
Amores, along with his brother, John Red Amores, visited Lumban to play basketball at Barangay Salac.
The game, which had a PHP 2,000 wager, turned sour when tensions flared.
The altercation between Amores and Cacalda escalated into a shooting incident on September 25 at around 5:30 PM.
