The Philippine Ambassador and Consuls General across the United States recently sat down for a crucial meeting to tackle what’s on every Filipino-American’s mind: the incoming Trump administration and its expected immigration policies.

Held on December 10and 11, 2024, the discussion aimed to align their approach as uncertainties grow within certain Filipino communities in the U.S. because of statements from the incoming administration. While no concrete policies have been rolled out yet, the message from the meeting is clear: the Philippine Embassy and Consulates are stepping up to make sure the rights and welfare of Filipino nationals are protected.

The officials emphasized their continued commitment to supporting Filipinos, regardless of their immigration status, while remaining respectful of U.S. laws. They also pledged to actively engage with U.S. officials to ensure that Filipino communities remain safe and secure during this period of change.

For anyone worried about access to services, the Embassy reassured the community that consular assistance will remain available—no matter what their circumstances may be. It’s a reminder that Filipinos in the U.S. are not alone, and their Embassy and Consulates are ready to stand by them.

At a time when uncertainty looms, this is a strong signal of support from the Philippine government for its people abroad.
