The Lyceum Pirates sure know how to put on a show, and Tuesday’s game against Mapua University was no exception. In a thrilling NCAA Season 100 match at the Filoil EcoOil Centre, the Pirates pulled off a stunning 96-81 comeback, thanks to an explosive fourth-quarter performance.

Trailing 85-80 with just over two minutes left, it seemed like Mapua had the upper hand. But Lyceum had other plans. The Pirates went on an 11-1 run, flipping the script and securing their third straight win of the season, improving to 3-2.

Leading the charge for Lyceum was none other than John Barba, who racked up an impressive 25 points, alongside nine rebounds and an assist. Barba had plenty of help too. Mclaude Guadaña dropped 16 points, Greg Cunanan added 15, and Jonathan Daileg came through with 14, nine of which came during that crucial final quarter.

It wasn’t just about the offense, though. Lyceum’s defense stepped up when it mattered most, shutting down Mapua’s attack in the closing moments.

Jeco Bancale led Mapua with 14 points, while Clint Escamis and Chris Hubilla both chipped in with 13 points each, but it just wasn’t enough to hold off Lyceum’s late-game heroics.
