PCOL Malabed, the Chief of the Supply Management Division, was on official duty when the American Airlines flight he was aboard collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter. The crash sent both aircraft into the Potomac River late Wednesday night.

"His untimely passing is a profound loss not only to the organization but to the nation he served," the PNP said, adding that they will provide full support to his bereaved family and loved ones during this difficult time.
