The Philippine National Police (PNP) assured the public that everything went smoothly as they assisted the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC) in enforcing an Interpol Notice for former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte upon his arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from Hong Kong on March 11, 2025.

To maintain order, the PNP deployed 379 personnel across NAIA and other key locations. PNP Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, alongside CIDG Director Police Major General Nicolas Torre III, personally oversaw security operations at the airport.

In a statement, the PNP emphasized that they were simply fulfilling their mandate to uphold the law while ensuring peace and order. They also reminded the public to stay calm and avoid spreading misinformation.

“We understand that emotions may run high, but let’s stick to the facts. Our job is to assist in lawful processes, nothing more, nothing less,” the PNP said.

They also warned against fake news, urging everyone to get their updates only from official government sources.

As the situation unfolds, the PNP assured the public of their continued professionalism and adherence to due process.
