Pope Francis Rested Well And Keeps Up His Routine Amid Health Concerns

It looks like Pope Francis is getting some much-needed rest. According to the latest update from the Holy See Press Office, the Pope had a peaceful night and woke up ready to continue his daily therapy. His condition remains stable, similar to the previous day, and another medical update is expected later this evening.

The good news? There were no additional respiratory issues like the one he experienced on Saturday morning.

Despite being treated for bronchitis and pneumonia at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, the Pope hasn’t slowed down completely. On Monday, he even managed to meet with top Vatican officials—Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Archbishop Peña Parra—to sign decrees related to causes for sainthood, which were officially promulgated on Tuesday.

A statement from the Vatican reassured everyone that, while Pope Francis' condition is serious, there have been small improvements. His oxygen therapy is ongoing but at a slightly reduced level, and his mild kidney insufficiency isn’t raising any red flags for now. Doctors are still being cautious given the complexity of his health situation, but it’s encouraging to hear that his latest test results show some progress.

Even from his hospital bed, Pope Francis remains deeply engaged in his spiritual mission. He received the Holy Eucharist on Monday morning, continued his work in the afternoon, and even made a phone call to the pastor of Holy Family parish in Gaza, offering his prayers and solidarity to the people there.

The Pope also made sure to express his heartfelt gratitude to all those praying for his health. As he continues his recovery, the global Catholic community remains united in prayer, hoping for his swift healing.
