Pope Francis Wakes Up Feeling Better, Joins Spiritual Exercises From Hospital

Good news from the Vatican—Pope Francis had a restful night and woke up around 8 a.m. this morning, feeling well enough to continue his treatment and physical therapy. The Holy See Press Office shared an update, saying the Pope even managed to follow the Roman Curia’s Spiritual Exercises via video link.

Despite still being under medical care, Pope Francis made time for prayer, even visiting the chapel to reflect. His health is steadily improving, and as of Monday evening, doctors have lifted their previously "guarded" prognosis, meaning they are now more optimistic about his recovery.

Medical updates confirm that his condition remains stable, with blood tests and clinical findings showing positive progress. While he still needs to stay in the hospital for ongoing treatment, his response to medication has been encouraging.

Even from his hospital room, the Pope remains engaged with his duties. On Monday, he tuned in to the Vatican’s annual Lenten retreat, led by Fr. Roberto Pasolini, and later received the Eucharist. Throughout the day, he balanced moments of prayer with rest.
Showing his ever-present concern for global issues, Pope Francis also sent a heartfelt message to those affected by severe flooding in Bahía Blanca and Cerri, Argentina, offering prayers and solidarity.

For now, it looks like the Holy Father is on the mend, and his commitment to prayer and duty remains unwavering—even from a hospital bed.
