Sta. Rosa, Laguna just got a major energy boost. Meralco, led by business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan, recently energized its brand-new Mesaland 115 kV-34.5 kV Substation—another step toward making power more stable and reliable in one of the country’s most rapidly growing areas.

Located in Hacienda Sta. Elena, this substation isn’t just about electricity—it’s about keeping up with the booming demand from residential, commercial, and industrial hubs in Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao, Silang, and even Tagaytay City. Think of it as the power source behind your favorite stores, schools, hospitals, and homes.

With a shiny new 83-megavolt-ampere (MVA) transformer and four new distribution feeders, the Mesaland Substation is ready to take on the growing electricity needs of the region. It also features a smart setup with two sub-transmission feeds to ensure backup power is always ready—just in case.

So who benefits? Pretty much everyone. From neighborhoods like Treveia, Venare, and Lumira, to institutions like the Adventist University of the Philippines and The Medical City South Luzon. Major commercial hotspots like Ayala Malls Solenad, S&R, Landers, Robinsons Nuvali, and big names like Concentrix and Asurion are also on the list.

“This substation is a clear sign of Meralco’s commitment to delivering quality power and improving our network,” said Froilan J. Savet, Meralco’s First Vice President and Head of Networks. “It’s all about meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve and helping these areas thrive economically.”

In short, with the Mesaland Substation up and running, progress in Laguna and Cavite is looking brighter—literally and figuratively.
