Excitement is in the air as the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference kicks off this Saturday. Teams like Capital1 and Farm Fresh are coming in stronger and more determined than ever, aiming to improve on their previous performances and make a real impact this season.

With the spotlight on some familiar names and fresh faces, the league promises high-energy matches, surprise twists, and fierce competition throughout the record-breaking six-month season. The opening games at the Philsports Arena in Pasig are just the beginning of what’s shaping up to be a season to remember.

Capital1’s Solar Spikers, coming off a solid seventh-place finish last conference, are in fine form. Head coach Roger Gorayeb has been prepping the team to fill the gap left by former star Marina Tushova. With key players like Rica Rivera, Leila Cruz, Julia Ipac, and Jorelle Singh honing their skills, this team is ready to show just how hard they’ve been working. "We're excited to play and step up," said libero Rica Rivera, voicing the team’s eagerness to make Marina proud. They’ll be taking on the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on November 12, and fans can expect them to come out swinging.

Farm Fresh, meanwhile, is looking to turn things around after an eighth-place finish. With the addition of standout players Jolina Dela Cruz and Lorene Toring, and with the tactical expertise of new head coach Benson Bocboc, the team is entering the conference with a renewed focus. Supported by sponsors like Arena Plus and Mikasa, the Foxies are set to debut against the Cignal HD Spikers on November 16.

For ZUS Coffee’s Thunderbelles, the stakes couldn’t be higher. After a tough streak, they’re aiming to end their 19-game losing streak this season. The team’s retooled lineup, led by the towering middle blocker Thea Gagate, is poised to turn things around, with seasoned players like Jovelyn Gonzaga and Chai Troncoso joining the roster. Their journey starts against the Akari Chargers on November 14, and with a lineup like this, they’re bound to make waves.

Galeries Tower, too, is ready for a fresh start. Coach Lerma Giron has brought in 2024 PVL Draft pick Julia Coronel, whose playmaking abilities could be the edge Galeries needs to win close games. Giron feels confident that the hard work put in during the off-season will pay off when they face the Chargers on November 9. “We tried to figure out what’s lacking,” she shared, “and with Julia now in rotation, we’re ready to make some noise.”

With every team bringing unique strengths and renewed vigor, fans are in for a treat. This PVL season promises to be one for the books, with teams eager to showcase their growth, ambition, and skill.
