In a recent statement, Senator Bong Go addressed the recommendations of the Quadcomm, emphasizing his stance that the courts and, more importantly, the Filipino people should be the ultimate judge when it comes to issues of peace and order involving the Duterte administration.

Go began by expressing confidence in the legal process. “Since 'yan ang rekomendasyon ng Quadcomm, then we leave it up to the Philippine courts to decide if ever cases are filed,” he said. He also pointed out that former President Rodrigo Duterte had repeatedly expressed the same sentiment.

But for Go, it ultimately boils down to the Filipino people. He urged the public to look back and decide for themselves: Did peace and order improve during Duterte’s time?

“Let the Filipino people decide kung umayos ba ang peace and order sa bansa at nakabenepisyo ba sila noong panahon ni FPRRD,” Go asserted. He highlighted the sense of safety many felt back then, asking whether people felt they could walk the streets without fear or worry about their children returning home safely.

Go also took issue with Quadcomm’s approach. “Ang nakakapagtaka lang sa Quadcomm, sila mismo ang nagsabi na huwag idamay ang walang kinalaman. Pero ngayon, parang lahat ng nabanggit sa mga hearing nila, kahit hearsay o walang katibayan, idinamay naman nila.”

He then lightened the mood, addressing perceptions about his character. “Hindi naman ako mukhang kriminal. Sabi nga nila, mabait naman daw ako,” he said, adding that he will leave it to the public to judge his intentions and actions.

Senator Go wrapped up his statement with a firm commitment to continue serving the Filipino people. “Patuloy lang ang aking pagtulong sa abot ng aking makakaya at uunahin ko ang pagseserbisyo sa mga kapwa ko Pilipino.”
