"Go for gold."

These were the words of Senator Bong Go to motivate Filipino athletes as the 2024 Paris Olympics begin.

Senator Bong Go, in collaboration with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), has already provided financial support of five hundred thousand pesos (P500,000) to each Filipino athlete participating in the Paris Olympics.

According to Senator Go, the athletes participating in the Olympics need full support, including the necessary financial assistance for their training and other needs.

"The success of our athletes is the success of the entire nation. It showcases the excellence of Filipinos worldwide," said Senator Go, Chair of the Senate Committee on Sports.

Supporting Filipino athletes in the Olympics is not new to Senator Go. In 2021, at the request of the Philippine Sports Commission, Senator Go helped expedite the approval of additional allowances for athletes representing the Philippines at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in Japan.
