Sky Cable Joins Forces With Converge To Deliver Lightning-Fast Internet To Subscribers

Sky Cable Corporation is teaming up with Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions, Inc., one of the Philippines’ leading fiber broadband providers, to bring you a major upgrade in internet service.
Sky’s Chairman, Mark Lopez, is thrilled about the partnership. “Converge has developed a cutting-edge fiber network that will soon be available to Sky customers,” he shared. This new collaboration is part of Sky’s broader transformation plan, which aims to enhance its services and offerings.
Claudia Suarez, Sky’s President and Chief Operations Officer, added that this move aligns perfectly with Sky’s goal of improving its products. “We’re excited about the benefits this world-class fiber network will bring to our subscribers,” she said.
On the flip side, Converge is also excited about this new arrangement. Maria Grace Uy, Converge’s President and Co-Founder, noted that the partnership will help maximize their network and boost revenue. “It’s a great opportunity for us to further utilize our network capacity,” she explained.
Converge is known for its impressive fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network, boasting over eight million ports and stretching 700,000 kilometers across the Philippines. By March 2024, they’re serving 2.3 million residential subscribers nationwide.
Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge’s CEO and Co-Founder, reflected on the milestone: “When I started my own cable TV business, I never imagined we’d be here today, helping Sky with the latest fiber technology.” He’s enthusiastic about the benefits this will bring to Sky’s customers.
Converge’s Chief Operations Officer, Jesus Romero, is confident that the upgrade will mean faster internet speeds and a better overall experience for Sky subscribers.
Carlo Katigbak, President and CEO of ABS-CBN and a Sky director, is also optimistic. “This initiative will undoubtedly enhance the customer experience, and we’re committed to moving forward with it,” he said.
Beyond just upgrading the network, Sky’s transformation plan includes improving operational efficiency, financial discipline, and organizational effectiveness.
