Transport Strike? What Transport Strike? LTFRB Says Commuters Barely Felt It
Looks like it was just another regular day on the road. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has declared that the nationwide transport strike led by Manibela didn’t exactly make the impact its organizers had hoped for. According to the LTFRB, the strike had minimal participation and barely affected commuter traffic.

While some rallies were held, they were mostly attended by the transport group’s own supporters. Meanwhile, major transport organizations—including the National Federation of Transport Cooperatives (NFTC), Tindig Calabarzon, Arangkada NCR, ALTODAP, ACTO, BusINA, and Pasang Masda—made it clear that they fully support the government’s Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP) and LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III.

The LTFRB also reported that consolidation efforts under the PTMP have reached an 86% success rate, further solidifying the modernization program’s progress.

With transport groups rallying behind modernization, it seems like traditional jeepneys and UV Express vehicles are well on their way to adapting to the new system—whether strikers like it or not.
