Tulfo Siblings Clear Hurdle: Comelec Junk Disqualification Case
FILE
Looks like the Tulfo siblings are staying in the race. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) First Division has dismissed the disqualification case filed against Erwin Tulfo, Jocelyn Tulfo, Ralph Wendel Tulfo, Ben Tulfo, and Wanda Tulfo-Teo, all of whom are running for various positions in the upcoming May 2025 elections.

Why Was the Case Dismissed?

According to Comelec, the petitioner failed to meet key requirements under their rules, particularly in providing copies of the Tulfo siblings' Certificates of Candidacy (COCs). Without these documents, the petition lacked the necessary foundation to proceed. The commission emphasized that compliance with procedural requirements is mandatory, and failure to do so results in automatic dismissal.

Erwin Tulfo Reacts

Following the decision, Rep. Erwin Tulfo expressed his gratitude, stating that the dismissal proves the integrity of the electoral process.

"Taos-puso akong nagpapasalamat sa 1st Division ng Commission on Elections para sa makatarungan at patas na desisyon nito. Ang pagkakadismiss ng kaso ay patunay ng integridad ng ating halalan at ng kahalagahan ng pagsunod sa tamang proseso," he said in an official statement.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to serving the public with integrity and dedication, now with this legal hurdle out of the way.

What’s Next?

With the case dismissed, the Tulfo siblings can now focus on their respective campaigns. But given their high-profile presence in both media and politics, it's safe to say this won’t be the last time we hear about them in the political arena.

For now, it's full steam ahead for Team Tulfo in the 2025 elections!
