House Secretary General Reginald Velasco has confirmed that the House of Representatives will take action this week on the three impeachment complaints filed against Vice President Sara Duterte.

“Still with me, but we have to act on it this week. Itong week na 'to yung deadline talaga,” Velasco said in an interview, emphasizing that the process needs to move forward.

This comes amid calls from groups behind the complaints, urging the House to immediately transmit the documents to the Office of the Speaker.

When asked if a fourth impeachment complaint has been filed, Velasco said, “As of now, wala pa eh. So, I think we have given them enough time.”

He also clarified that some groups had hoped for a fast-tracked process, where only a signature would be needed for immediate transmittal to the Senate. However, he pointed out that proper procedures must still be followed.

With this deadline looming, all eyes are now on the House’s next steps. Will the complaints move forward, or will they hit another roadblock? Stay tuned.
