The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has alerted residents of Ilocos Norte and Cagayan to exercise caution following China's scheduled rocket launch between June 28-30.

According to the NDRRMC, debris from the Long March 7A rocket may potentially fall in these areas. The Philippine Space Agency (PhiSA) provided information that the launch will occur from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Wenchang, Hainan, with expected drop zones approximately 75 nautical miles (NM) from Burgos, Ilocos Norte, and 126 NM from Santa Ana, Cagayan.

In response to the potential risk, the following precautionary measures have been recommended:

- Relevant authorities, including PCG, BFAR, DILG, and DENR-NAMRIA, are advised to consider temporary restrictions and issue Notice to Mariners Coastal Navigational Warnings (NAVAREA XI warnings) in the identified drop zones to ensure maritime safety.
- RDRRMCs I and II have been tasked with continuous monitoring and reporting updates on the situation.

Residents and authorities are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions during the specified times of heightened risk.
