In a show of strong support for the current administration’s push to bring in more foreign investments, Speaker of the House Ferdinand Martin Romualdez teamed up with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at a high-level business meeting with top executives of Shera Public Company Limited in Laos.

The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit, focused on exploring potential business opportunities that Shera, a major player in the construction industry specializing in fiber cement boards, siding, roofing, and concrete roof tiles, could bring to the Philippines.

President Marcos and Speaker Romualdez, along with Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque and Secretary Frederick Go, who serves as the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, discussed how Shera’s investment could contribute to the growth of the Philippine construction sector. They highlighted the favorable business climate and economic reforms that make the country an attractive destination for foreign investors.

The Philippine officials emphasized that this partnership could not only bolster the local construction industry but also create more jobs and accelerate economic growth. The meeting was a testament to the government’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with international companies and bringing more business into the country.

It’s all part of the administration’s broader strategy to cement the Philippines’ reputation as a prime investment hub in Southeast Asia.
