Vice President Sara Duterte disclosed her family's political roadmap for the upcoming years, confirming her younger brother Sebastian Duterte, popularly known as Baste, will run for senator in 2025 and eventually for president in 2028.

Speaking to reporters, Vice President Duterte stated, "My mother told me that the one who will run as senator is my younger brother, Baste Duterte. He will be the one to run in 2028 as president. My mother also said that I should go back to Davao and run as mayor."

When pressed about her own plans and if she intends to resign as Vice President, Duterte responded firmly, "Wala ganon na usapan" (There is no such discussion).

Regarding the senatorial candidacy in 2025, she affirmed, "Lahat sila rearing na tumakbo eh si PRD, Senator yung kuya ko si Paolo Duterte yung congressman ngayon, Senator. Si Sebastian Duterte" (All of them are preparing to run; PRD [referring to President Rodrigo Duterte], my brother Paolo Duterte who is currently a congressman, and Sebastian Duterte).

Asked for confirmation on Baste Duterte's candidacy for senator and future presidential bid in 2028, Sara Duterte confidently replied, "Yes, Confirmed yan" (Yes, that is confirmed).
