Sen. Bong Go Celebrates A Win For Health: 'This Is A Big Victory For The Filipino People!'

Senator Bong Go recently expressed his joy over a significant victory for the Filipino people, declaring, "This is one big win for the Filipino people! Sulit ang ating pangungulit!" He thanked the Supreme Court for temporarily halting the controversial transfer of health funds from PhilHealth to projects unrelated to public health and wellness.
"Ang pondo ng PhilHealth ay para sa Health!" Go emphasized, highlighting the importance of ensuring that funds meant for healthcare are used appropriately. As the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Supreme Court for listening to the appeals of ordinary Filipinos who participated in the Senate hearings, voicing their concerns about this pressing issue.
But Go made it clear that the fight doesn’t end here. "Hindi ko titigilan ang PhilHealth hanggang tuparin nila ang lahat ng kanilang pangako," he asserted, vowing to hold the agency accountable for promises that include raising case rates, expanding benefit packages, reducing premium contributions, and providing essential services like emergency and preventive care.
He also called for better healthcare access, including dental and visual care, free medications, and assistive devices for those in need. Go is determined to address outdated policies, including the recent revisions to confinement rules, which he believes do not serve the interests of the Filipino people.
"Habang may mga mahihirap na Pilipinong naghihingalo dahil walang pambayad sa ospital, I will continue to fight against anti-poor policies and push for programs that promote the health and well-being of every Filipino," he stated passionately.
The issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) by the Supreme Court, according to Go, is not the end of their efforts. Instead, he views it as a renewed call to action, reinforcing their commitment to advocating for the fundamental right to health for every Filipino, especially the most vulnerable.
"In this fight, we aim to bring hope to the hopeless and a voice to the voiceless," Go concluded, underscoring his relentless pursuit of health justice for all.
