Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri emphasized the importance of communicating the benefits of amending the economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution during a public consultation held by the Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes Subcommittee. The consultation is part of a broader effort to explain the potential advantages of these changes to the public.

Zubiri highlighted that the Senate is conducting hearings on Resolution of Both Houses No. 6 in Baguio City, Cebu City, and Cagayan de Oro. The goal is to simplify the explanation of how economic reforms in the Constitution could benefit the nation.

The Senate leader pointed out that countries like Vietnam and Indonesia have become attractive investment destinations due to their favorable incentive packages and lack of constitutional restrictions on foreign investments. "We are concerned that we might be left behind as these countries continue to receive substantial foreign direct investment, while we risk being left off the investment map," Zubiri remarked.
