Senate Reshuffles Committees Under New Leadership
In a move signaling a shift in Senate leadership, former Senate President Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri has been appointed to head the economic affairs panel, among other key changes announced during Wednesday's plenary session, now presided over by Senate President Francis "Chiz" G. Escudero.

The reorganization saw several senators taking charge of major committees:

- Senator Sonny Angara: Committee on Justice and Human Rights

- Senator Nancy Binay: Committee on Sustainable Goals

- Senator Pia Cayetano: Committee on Energy

- Senator JV Ejercito: Committee on Local Government

- Senator Lito Lapid: Committee on Tourism

- Senator Imee Marcos: Urban Planning, Housing and Resettlement

- Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino: Committee on Ethics and Privileges

- Senator Raffy Tulfo: Committee on Public Services

- Senator Joel Villanueva: Committee on Labor, Employment, and Human Resources Development
- Senator Mark Villar: Committee on Government Corporations and Public Enterprises

Additionally, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano will chair the Committee on Accounts and will also lead the Committee on Trade and Industry, as well as the Committee on Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education.

Further, Senate Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada and Majority Floor Leader Francis Tolentino were appointed earlier in the week.

In a statement, Senate President Escudero emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts, stating, "Everyone should have a committee... We need all hands on deck." He acknowledged the challenge of managing over 45 committees with only 24 senators and assured that additional announcements regarding the Senate's organizational processes will follow in the coming days.
