Senator Bong Go, known for his tireless efforts to improve the country’s healthcare system, was recognized with the prestigious "Golden Legacy Award" during the 50th Anniversary Gala of the Philippine Heart Center held at Manila Hotel last night.

In his acceptance speech, Senator Go dedicated the award to the brave medical frontliners who he described as the true "heroes of the pandemic."

“Ang hero po natin sa panahon ng pandemya ay lahat ng ating frontliners—nurses, security guards, doctors. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng ating medical professionals, sa mga frontliners. Paglalaban ko po kayo parati, alam niyo po ‘yan," he said.

He also reassured healthcare workers that they have a strong ally in the Senate Committee on Health, which he chairs.

“You have an avenue, you have the Committee on Health para sa inyong lahat," Go added.

Senator Go has been a key advocate for healthcare reforms, pushing for the Malasakit Centers across the country, which provide free medical assistance to Filipinos in need. His recognition at the event is a testament to his continuous commitment to strengthening the nation’s healthcare system.
