Senator Christopher “Bong” Go vowed to continue the decisive and compassionate governance started by the Duterte administration during his acceptance speech after being nominated as one of the three official senatorial candidates of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) during its National Assembly held in Davao City.

Apart from Go, PDP nominated Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and actor Philip Salvador as its official senatorial candidates for the 2025 elections.

All three accepted their nomination.

“Kami naman ni Senator Bato, Philip Salvador, gusto po naming ipagpatuloy iyong gobyernong may tapang at pagmamasalasakit sa kapuwa Pilipino,” Senator Go said.

He likewise thanked the Filipino people for their trust and support saying it is vital in the success of the Duterte administration.

Senator Go credited the former administration for bringing change to the lives of Filipinos adding that he will continue to render service as long as he can to our countrymen.

“Patuloy po akong magseserbisyo sa inyo sa abot ng aking makakaya. Hindi naman po ako politiko na mangangako, pero iyung magagandang programa po ni dating pangulong Duterte, alam naman natin na nakapagdulot po ito ng pagbabago sa buhay ng mga Pilipino,” Go underscored.

He said that the children are the ones who benefited from the Duterte administration stressing that it is the people who would judge the former President.

“Ang nakinabang po roon ang anak natin. Ang nakinabang po ang ating bayan. Kayo na po ang humusga pagdating ng panahon iyong ginawa ni Tatay Digong po na para po sa kinabukasan ng ating mga anak,” Go told his partymates.

Senator Go likewise took the occasion to reminisce the time when only a few people had been joining him and then Mayor Duterte in their sorties saying that these are the same people he saw and recognized during last Friday’s event.

For his part, former President Duterte, who serves as party chairman, emphasized the importance of an opposing force in a democracy.

“Ang essence ng democracy ay kung may gustong sabihin ang karamihan na kahit isang libo kayong magsabi nito at may isang taong nagsabi na hindi tama iyan, that is democracy.”

The PDP allied with the Partido para sa Demokratikong Reporma (Partido Reporma), Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) and the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte National Executive Coordinating Committee (MRRD-NECC) to strengthen its position in the 2025 elections.

Former Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Chairman Greco Belgica, the founder of PDDS, and former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez of the Partido Reporma formally signed the agreement with the PDP, represented by its Chairman, former President Duterte, who also represented the MRRD-NECC.

More than 1,200 delegates trooped to the PDP National Assembly in a grand show of strength and unity. ###
