Senator Lito Lapid has strongly denied accusations that he owns the ten-hectare land in Porac, Pampanga, which houses a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub.

In a recent hearing, Lapid addressed the allegations head-on, stating, "I want to prove in this hearing that I have no involvement in the operation of the POGO, and the ten-hectare land there is not under my name. That's why I'm challenging this—if they can prove that I am involved, I am willing to resign as Senator because I will not allow my name to be tarnished."

The controversy emerged amid increasing scrutiny of POGO operations in the country, with questions about their legalities and impact on local communities. Lapid’s assertion aims to clear his name from any ties to the contentious gambling hubs.
