Senator Risa Hontiveros disclosed that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has verified a fingerprint match between suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and Guo Hua Ping. This revelation, according to Hontiveros, strongly suggests that both identities belong to the same individual.

"Indeed, the NBI has confirmed that the fingerprints of Mayor Alice Guo and Guo Hua Ping match. Ibig sabihin, they are the fingerprints of one and the same person," Senator Hontiveros stated

Hontiveros, known for her vocal stance against illegal activities, particularly those involving Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), further emphasized her suspicions regarding Mayor Alice's true identity.

“This confirms what I have suspected all along. Pekeng Pilipino si Mayor Alice — or should I say, Guo Hua Ping. She is a Chinese national masquerading as a Filipino citizen to facilitate crimes being committed by POGO,” the senator added.

The senator's allegations come amidst heightened scrutiny over the operations and legal status of POGOs in the Philippines. Mayor Alice Guo, who has been suspended pending further investigation, faces escalating allegations regarding her citizenship and involvement in facilitating POGO-related activities.

The NBI's confirmation of the fingerprint match raises significant questions about Mayor Alice's citizenship status and underscores ongoing concerns about foreign nationals engaging in illegal activities under the guise of Philippine residency.

As the investigation continues, Senator Hontiveros has called for stringent measures to address these issues and ensure accountability within local government units implicated in facilitating illegal activities linked to POGOs.

The unfolding developments surrounding Mayor Alice Guo's identity and alleged involvement highlight broader challenges faced by Philippine authorities in regulating POGOs and safeguarding national interests against potential exploitation by foreign entities.
