Sheila Guo and Cassandra Li Ong are now back in the Philippines. According to Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco, the duo arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 at around 5:00 PM on a Philippine Airlines flight from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Guo, the sister of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, and Ong, a key figure in the controversial Lucky South 99 POGO in Porac, Pampanga, were escorted by BI intelligence operatives and members of the Fugitive Search Unit. Their return to the country is a major development, considering both were on the radar of investigations by the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The two were apprehended at Mega Mall Batam Centre in Indonesia on August 20 after a successful operation by Indonesian immigration authorities, who had been monitoring them based on a request from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration. Their capture followed a joint effort, leveraging intelligence data shared between the two countries. While Sheila and Cassandra were caught, former Mayor Alice Guo managed to slip away and is still at large.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. also weighed in on the situation, emphasizing the ongoing coordination between the Philippine and Indonesian governments to ensure justice is served.
