Shiloh Jolie Makes It Official: Drops 'Pitt' From Her Name

Shiloh Jolie, the third-eldest child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has officially dropped "Pitt" from her name. A Los Angeles court granted her petition to legally change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. The decision comes after she filed the petition on her 18th birthday, May 27.

Shiloh’s move marks a significant step, as she becomes the first of the Jolie-Pitt children to formally exclude Pitt from her name. While reports suggest that some of her siblings, like Vivienne, have informally done the same—Vivienne was listed as "Vivienne Jolie" in a Broadway program—Shiloh's decision is the first to be legally recognized.

Shiloh, along with her siblings Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Vivienne, and Knox, have all lived much of their lives in the spotlight, thanks to their famous parents. Angelina Jolie, who became a household name in the '90s, has gone through her own name change journey, legally dropping her father Jon Voight’s surname in 2002 after a fallout.

Jolie and Pitt’s relationship, once dubbed "Brangelina" by the media, has had its fair share of ups and downs. After a decade-long romance, they tied the knot in 2014, but by 2016, Jolie filed for divorce. While they were declared legally single in 2019, the divorce case is still ongoing, with custody and financial disputes unresolved.

In recent years, the former couple has been embroiled in legal battles, including disagreements over a shared winery in France. Jolie also made headlines with allegations in 2022 that Pitt had physically harmed her and their children during a 2016 flight.

As for Shiloh, her representatives have not commented on the name change. The news was first reported by TMZ.
