In a pivotal meeting between U.S. and Philippine officials, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met with their Filipino counterparts, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo and Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro Jr. The discussion, held during the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue, was all about enhancing the enduring alliance between the two nations and laying out strategies to achieve a shared vision of partnership, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Secretary Blinken announced a significant boost in support, revealing a $500 million allocation for foreign military financing aimed at strengthening the defense capabilities of the Philippines. Additionally, he highlighted a $1 million disaster relief assistance package to help the Philippines tackle any immediate humanitarian needs.
