In a groundbreaking move, Strong Group Athletics (SGA) has officially entered the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) as the league's 11th team, taking over the Gerflor franchise. This marks a significant milestone for Philippine volleyball.

PVL President Richard Palou expressed gratitude to SGA owner Frank Lao, acknowledging their support not only in covering the Gerflor Defenders' salaries last year but also for the bold initiative of establishing a second team in the PVL. Palou stated, "This shows their strong commitment to the development and success of volleyball in the Philippines."

Frank Lao, owner of Strong Group Athletics, emphasized the strategic decision behind establishing a second team, stating, "Putting up a second team in the Premier Volleyball League is a no-brainer for us." Lao highlighted the league's consistent entertainment value and expressed excitement about contributing to its growth.

Lao added, "Having a second team will lead to more opportunities for Filipino volleyball players and coaches." SGA aims to provide additional platforms for athletes to showcase their talents, contributing significantly to the growth of volleyball in the country.

Beyond the PVL, Strong Group Athletics proudly supports women's volleyball teams at various universities, including University of the East, University of the Philippines, College of Saint Benilde, and Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
