Senate President Juan Miguel "Migz" F. Zubiri has signed a subpoena ad testificandum, summoning religious leader Apollo Quiboloy to testify before the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality. The subpoena comes in response to allegations of abuses within Quiboloy's group.

Senator Risa Hontiveros expressed her gratitude to Senate President Zubiri for taking swift action and announced the issuance of the subpoena during the Senate panel's public inquiry on Monday, February 19, 2024.

"Yes, the subpoena against Apollo Quiboloy is out," Senator Hontiveros declared, emphasizing her commitment to ensuring that the alleged abuses, particularly those involving women and children, are thoroughly investigated. She pledged not to let the courage of the victims be overshadowed by political bickering.

"And I'm glad that our institution, under the current Senate leadership, has made it its policy too," Senator Hontiveros added, highlighting the Senate's dedication to addressing issues of abuse and exploitation.
