Jeffrey Ariola Magpantay, a prime suspect in the Catherine Camilon missing person case, voluntarily surrendered to authorities on January 9, 2024, at Balayan Municipal Police Station, Batangas.

Magpantay, accompanied by his live-in partner, personally appeared at the police station at approximately 11:59 AM, expressing his willingness to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The surrender follows charges filed against him for the alleged kidnapping and serious illegal detention of the missing beauty queen.

The 33-year-old suspect is taking steps to cooperate, including submitting a waiver of detention signed by his legal counsel. PBGEN Paul Kenneth T Lucas, Director for Police Regional Office CALABARZON, commends Magpantay's surrender, emphasizing the commitment to a fair and impartial investigation.

Magpantay is believed to be the driver of Police Major Allan De Castro, the prime suspect currently facing both administrative and criminal charges.
