Suspended Bamban Mayor Appeals For Fair Investigation

Suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has formally appealed to Malacañang for a fair investigation into the serious allegations levied against her, including her purported involvement in illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) activities.
In a seven-page letter addressed to Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, who chairs the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), Guo fervently denied accusations implicating her in espionage, money laundering, human trafficking, kidnapping, and illegal POGO operations. She requested a comprehensive and impartial investigation to clear her name.
Guo's letter elaborates on her limited role and clarifies her position on the accusations. She described the allegations as baseless and damaging to her reputation and capacity to serve as mayor effectively. Guo particularly refuted claims of her association with Baofu Land Development Inc., asserting that the company was established legitimately and that her divestment from it was lawful and transparent.
In her letter, Guo provided copies of previous communications with Senator Risa Hontiveros, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, and her response to the complaint filed against her at the Office of the Ombudsman.

She categorically denied any involvement in illegal activities related to Baofu Land Development Inc., dismissing claims that the company was a front for money laundering or the establishment of a POGO hub.
