Suspended Bamban Mayor Faces Citizenship Controversy: Quo Warranto Petition Filed

The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) has filed a Quo Warranto Petition against suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.

This legal move stems from serious questions about her citizenship and identity, as revealed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

According to the NBI, Alice Guo and a Chinese national named Guo Hua Ping both entered the Philippines back in January 2003. This has raised suspicions and led to a thorough investigation into whether Alice Guo is truly a Filipino citizen. The Quo Warranto Petition essentially challenges her right to hold public office based on these allegations.

The OSG's filing of this petition adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing saga surrounding Mayor Guo. If the court finds merit in the petition, it could lead to her removal from office. For now, the people of Bamban are left in a state of uncertainty as the legal process unfolds.
