The temporary closure of Mount Apo Natural Park (MANP) for trekking and camping activities has been extended until the end of April.

The Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) of the park made this decision as a precaution against the potential dangers posed by #ElNiñoPH, which increases the risk of wildfires threatening the ecosystem and the safety of visitors.

PAMB is urging all trekkers and mountaineers who planned trips during the closure to coordinate with their organizers to reschedule their ascent.
