Typhoon “Nika” made its presence felt this morning, with a powerful landfall in Dinalungan, Aurora, around 8:10 AM. The storm packed enough force to bring areas like Dilasag under a Signal No. 4 alert, unleashing torrential rain and strong, gusty winds that residents won’t soon forget.

For more than two hours, Typhoon "Nika" pounded the region, especially hitting Dilasag with heavy rains and powerful winds. The storm has left a visible trail of damage, from downed trees to scattered debris and power outages affecting large parts of Aurora.

ISELCO-I, the local electric cooperative, has responded swiftly, deploying teams to assess the damage and restore electricity. The safety of both residents and line workers is top priority, so they’re being cautious with their approach. Repairs are happening in stages to ensure safety conditions are met, but once everything is cleared, full-scale restoration will kick in to bring power back to affected communities.

As residents work together to clear debris and recover, they’re urged to stay updated with weather and emergency advisories. Typhoon “Nika” has left an undeniable impact, but with efforts from local responders and a strong sense of community, Aurora is already working toward recovery.
