President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Undersecretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque as the new Acting Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

This change comes in the wake of Secretary Alfredo Pascual's unexpected resignation.

Aldeguer-Roque, who has been serving as the undersecretary of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development Group, is now stepping into a pivotal role at DTI.

Her extensive experience with MSMEs positions her well to lead the department, especially as the nation continues to recover and grow economically.

President Marcos Jr. expressed confidence in Aldeguer-Roque's ability to drive the DTI's mission forward. "Undersecretary Aldeguer-Roque has demonstrated exceptional leadership in supporting our MSMEs, and I am confident she will bring the same dedication and vision to her new role as Acting Secretary of the DTI," he stated.

In her new capacity, Aldeguer-Roque will be at the forefront of shaping trade policies, fostering business growth, and ensuring that the DTI remains a key player in the nation's economic development.
