VP Sara Duterte's Shocking Threat: 'I'll Throw Marcos Sr.'s Body Into The West Philippine Sea'

In a fiery press conference, Vice President Sara Duterte revealed a jaw-dropping warning she once gave Senator Imee Marcos. Amid ongoing political tensions, Duterte didn’t hold back, saying, "Isang beses, sinabihan ko talaga si Sen. Imee. Sabi ko sa kanya, kung hindi kayo tumigil, huhukayin ko ‘yang tatay ninyo, itatapon ko siya sa West Philippine Sea." Her bold threat to dig up the remains of the late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and discard them in the disputed waters of the West Philippine Sea has set off a wave of outrage and condemnation.

Members of the House of Representatives were quick to react. The ‘Young Guns’ of Congress, led by House Assistant Majority Leader Zia Alonto Adiong, denounced the remarks as “bastos at desperada.” Adiong expressed disbelief over Duterte’s threat, calling it more than just a slip of the tongue: “This isn’t just political banter—it’s a blatant act of desecration. In our culture, we honor the dead. To use them as pawns in a political game is disgusting… Vice President Duterte should focus on addressing the misuse of public funds instead of resorting to such disgraceful tactics.”

Rep. Rodge Gutierrez echoed Adiong’s sentiments, branding the vice president’s remarks as a sign of “pure desperation.” He suggested that the threat was an attempt to deflect attention from the administration’s own controversies, saying, “Instead of facing the allegations head-on, VP Duterte resorts to vile threats.”

As the political drama unfolds, Duterte’s controversial statement has added fuel to the fire in the already heated political arena. Her comments, while shocking to many, also highlight the intensity of the rift between her and the Marcos family, raising questions about how deep these divisions go. Whether this was merely a heated exchange or a sign of more drastic actions to come, one thing is clear: the political landscape just got a lot more volatile.
