Warner Bros. Reshuffles Its Film Slate: Final Destination 6 Arrives Next Summer, Flowervale Street Moves To 2026
Final Destination
Warner Bros. has decided to shake things up in its upcoming film release schedule—some projects are speeding up, while others are taking the scenic route. The biggest headline? Final Destination 6, officially titled Final Destination: Bloodlines, is hitting theaters on May 16, 2025, while the J.J. Abrams-produced mystery thriller Flowervale Street is getting pushed almost a year to March 13, 2026.

So, why all the movement? Well, Warner Bros. seems to be playing the long game. With Final Destination: Bloodlines, the studio is planting its flag in May, a month that’s been kind to genre hits like A Quiet Place Part II and The Fast and the Furious. And considering it’s been 14 years since fans last witnessed Death’s creatively twisted handiwork (Final Destination 5 came out in 2011), the studio probably figures now’s the perfect time to revive the franchise.

Final Destination has always thrived on its simple yet chilling premise: you can’t cheat Death. Young protagonists manage to narrowly escape a fatal accident, only to meet increasingly insane, over-the-top deaths in the aftermath. Since its 2000 debut, the franchise has earned over $657 million worldwide, proving audiences love watching fate catch up—no matter how long it takes.

What makes Bloodlines’ May 2025 release date even more interesting is the competition. It’ll arrive two weeks after Marvel’s Thunderbolts on May 2, and one week before two big heavyweights: Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch and Paramount’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning on May 23. That’s some tough company, but Final Destination fans are a loyal bunch.

Meanwhile, Flowervale Street’s delay to March 2026 is more of a strategic move. Warner Bros. has seen success with big spring releases like Dune: Part Two and The Batman, so the studio likely wants to position Abrams’ mystery thriller for a similar spotlight.

And it’s not just horror and thrillers that are shifting around. Warner Bros. also picked up Animal Friends, a live-action/CGI road trip comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, and TikTok star Addison Rae. The film, originally set for August, is now coming out October 10, 2025—a month that’s worked wonders for R-rated comedies like Zombieland and Jackass. Animal Friends will share its opening day with Disney’s Tron: Ares, so it’s going to be an interesting weekend for moviegoers.

With all these moves, it’s clear Warner Bros. is playing a careful game of movie chess—balancing fan expectations, timing, and box office strategy. For horror lovers, though, the return of Final Destination is the real showstopper. Mark your calendars for May 2025 because Death is coming back… and you definitely don’t want to miss it.
