In a swift move, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin has ordered the Department of Foreign Affairs to cancel the passports of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and her relatives. This decision comes as a crackdown following Guo’s illegal exit from the country, which has raised serious concerns among authorities.

The passport cancellations don't just stop with Alice Guo. Her family members—Wesley Guo, Sheila Guo, and Cassandra Ong—are also covered by this order. The goal is clear: to prevent any further evasion of justice and bring accountability to those who orchestrated or assisted in Guo's escape.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla isn't taking this lightly. He's ordered a thorough investigation into how Guo managed to slip past immigration authorities, despite being on the Immigration Lookout Bulletin (ILBO). The Bureau of Immigration (BI) had previously assured the public that Alice Guo and her alias, Guo Hua Ping, were on their radar. Yet, somehow, Guo managed to fly to Malaysia in July and then onward to Singapore with her siblings, Sheila and Wesley Guo.

Secretary Remulla has issued a stern warning to any BI personnel who may have been involved in this breach. He’s determined to hold everyone accountable, vowing that those responsible will face the full force of the law. Remulla’s message is clear: either come forward now, or face the consequences later.

The investigation doesn’t end with government officials. Secretary Remulla is also looking into the possibility that Guo’s legal team may have played a role in her escape. While lawyers have a duty to defend their clients, Remulla emphasizes that they also have a responsibility to uphold the law.
