FILE
In the midst of speculation and anticipation for the 2025 elections, a recent survey conducted by OCTA Research sheds light on who Filipinos might favor as their next set of senators. Conducted from June 26 to July 1 with 1200 respondents nationwide, the survey asked voters a crucial question: if the elections were held today, who would they likely vote for as senator?

Top Contenders:

Leading the pack is Congressman Erwin Tulfo, capturing the top spot with a strong showing of 58% of respondents favoring him. Not far behind are his brother Bienvenido "Ben" Tulfo and Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, each garnering 45%, making it a tight race for the second to fourth spots.

Notable Figures:

- former Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III follows closely with 44%.
- Senator Pilar Juliana "Pia" Cayetano and Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. maintain strong positions with 39% and 38% respectively.
- Political veterans Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa and Senator Francis "Tol" Tolentino share the fifth to eleventh ranks with 36%, alongside former Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson.

Emerging Trends:

Interestingly, while some familiar names dominate the top positions, newer faces like former Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko" Domagoso** and Makati Mayor Abigail "Abby" Binay are also making significant strides with 23% each.

Methodology and Margin of Error:

It's important to note that the survey has a margin of error of 3%, reflecting the variability inherent in polling data. Respondents were allowed to choose up to 12 names from a list that included potential candidates for the upcoming elections.

As the political landscape continues to evolve leading up to 2025, these early indicators provide valuable insights into voter sentiment and preferences. Stay tuned for more updates as the electoral season progresses.
