'Why Waste Time?': PBBM Opens Up About Asking Lawmakers To Skip Impeachment Move Against VP Sara

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has confirmed reports that he privately reached out to lawmakers, urging them not to pursue an impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte. Speaking candidly, the President said the effort would be a waste of time and energy with no real benefit to the Filipino people.

“Well, it was actually a private communication,” Marcos admitted, adding, “But yes, because that’s really my opinion. This is not important; this does not make any difference to even one single Filipino life. So, why waste time?”

The President elaborated on his stance, emphasizing the futility of such a move. “What will happen if somebody files an impeachment? It will tie down the House, it will tie down the Senate—for what? For nothing. None of this will help improve a single Filipino life. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a storm in a teacup.”

The president’s comments reflect his focus on more pressing issues facing the nation. By urging lawmakers to avoid distractions, he hopes to redirect energy toward initiatives that directly impact the lives of ordinary Filipinos.

The President’s remarks have sparked discussions about priorities in governance, with many wondering if this signals a broader call for unity and productivity within the legislature. Whether his private communication will effectively silence talks of impeachment remains to be seen.
