3 fall in Maguindanao drug buy-bust; P680-K shabu seized

COTABATO CITY – A team of police and anti-narcotics operatives arrested three persons and recovered suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP680,000 in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on Wednesday.

The buy-bust operation was conducted in Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, situated some 500 meters away from Camp Siongco, headquarters of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division.

Brig. Gen. Manuel Abu, director of the Police Regional Office - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BARMM), identified those arrested as Maimona Bagundang, 24, and her husband Sidik S. Bagundang, 24, both residents of Barangay Ganta, Kabuntalan, Maguindanao; and Mohalidin Pikit, 42, of Barangay Dadtumeg, Kabuntalan, Maguindanao.

Abu said operatives of the Datu Odin Sinsuat police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency –BARMM conducted the entrapment in Sitio Curbada, Barangay Awang at 2 p.m., which resulted in the confiscation of some 100 grams of shabu.

“This reflects the commitment of PRO-BARMM to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in our area of responsibility amid the continuing fight (against) the coronavirus disease 2019,” he said.

The three suspects are currently detained at the PDEA-BARMM custodial facility in this city. (PNA)
