6 suspects nabbed; P680-K shabu seized in Bulacan

BALAGTAS, Bulacan – Authorities seized around PHP680,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs and arrested six suspects, including a 16-year-old minor, in a buy-bust in Barangay Wawa here on Wednesday night.

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, identified the suspects as Melissa Interior, Elmer Letigo, France Lui David, Jaypee del Monte, Roy de Jesus and a male minor, all of Barangay Wawa.

Based on the report, operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), as lead unit, together with Bulacan Intelligence Branch, and Balagtas and Meycauayan police, launched the buy-bust around 11 p.m.

An undercover intelligence operative, who acted as poseur buyer, was able to buy a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu from the suspects.

Confiscated during the operation were more or less 100 grams of suspected shabu with standard drug price of PHP680,000; a PHP1,000 bill and a weighing scale.

The suspects are now under the custody of PDEA-Bulacan while the pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for examination.

The suspects are facing charges with a violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
