Albay youth groups protest Anti-Terrorism Bill
Members of several progressive Albay-based youth groups staged a protest rally against the anti-terrorism bill at Peñaranda park in Legazpi City early Monday.
The protesters decried the Anti-Terrorism Bill as just one of the present administration’s many tactics to silence critics.
They also expressed anger over the birthday party of NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office) Chief General Debold Sinas, who is under investigation for violating health protocols during the said event.
Anti-riot police and a Bureau of Fire Protection fire truck were on standby to disperse or arrest the protesters should they violate health protocols or force their way to the Albay Capitol.
The protest ended peacefully with the participants singing the Philippine national anthem while on their knees.
