‘Ambo’ intensifies into severe tropical storm, more areas under Signal #1
“Ambo” intensifies into a severe tropical storm as it moves closer to land, PAGASA reported in its latest bulletin on Wednesday afternoon.
PAGASA also raised Signal #1 over several provinces in Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions.
As of 4 PM, the center of Severe Tropical Storm Ambo was estimated at 315 km east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph and gustiness of up to 115 kph. It is moving west northwest at 10 kph.
Ambo is forecast to further intensify into a typhoon as it approaches Eastern Visayas-Bicol Region area.
