Authorities kill one, arrest five in multiple Bicol drug busts

Philippine National Police (PNP) operatives killed a former drug suspect in a shootout in Guinobatan, Albay on Monday. 

The suspect, Manuel Marasigan had been arrested by police on drug-related charges in November 2016. 

The shootout happened as PNP and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives were conducting a drug bust at Barangay Inascan in Guinobatan. 

Marasigan's unidentified male companion was also wounded by the PNP but was able to elude arrest. 

Authorities confiscated a plastic sachet containing substance believed to be shabu worth P12,000.

Meanwhile, PNP, PDEA and Philippine Army operatives arrested five suspects in three other drug operations in Camarines Sur on the same day.

Authorities arrested a certain Victor Marasigan in Barangay Colacling, Lupi in the afternoon and found one sachet of suspected shabu in his possession.

An evening drug buy bust led to the arrest of three suspects in Barangay Mabolo, Naga City. They were identified as Jovelyn Rivera, Loreto Morano and Joel Salazar, all residents of Naga City. Authorities confiscated a plastic sachet of suspected shabu with a possible value of P56,000.

In another evening raid, joint PDEA and PNP forces arrested Alan Adan of Barangay Triangulo, Naga City. Authorities found 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000. 

Adan is under the custody of PDEA while the other suspects are under the PNP.
