A COVID-19 patient who was confined at the COVID-19 treatment facility at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium was discharged on Monday after testing negative for the virus.
“The ‘We Heal As One Center’ at the converted Ninoy Aquino Stadium discharged its first COVID-19 patient on Monday, April 20, after the patient tested negative for the disease twice,” Manila Mayor Isko Moreno posted on Facebook.
Amid concerns on the increasing number of COVID-19 patients in Metro Manila, the government converted the Ninoy Aquino Stadium into a 112-bed COVID-19 health facility in less than a week.
Other government properties that were converted into COVID-19 health facilities are the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Halls and World Trade Center in Pasay City; the ASEAN Convention Center in Clark, Pampanga; as well as the National Government Administrative Center and the Athletes’ Village in New Clark City, Capas Tarlac.
The BCDA said the conversion of the Philippine Sports Arena or ULTRA in Pasig City, the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, and the Filinvest Tent in Muntinlupa City are set to be completed soon.
