Drug suspect slain; 2 wanted persons nabbed in GenSan, SoCot
GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A fugitive drug suspect was killed while two other wanted persons were arrested in separate police operations here and in South Cotabato province on Tuesday.
Maj. Tirso Pascual, chief of Bula police station, identified on Wednesday the slain suspect as Poge Mislay, 21, who had a standing warrant for selling and possession of dangerous drugs.
Pascual said the suspect was killed in an encounter with police operatives around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in Purok Pandian, Barangay Labangal.
Mislay reportedly resisted and drew a handgun when the police officers were about to serve the arrest warrant.
A brief firefight resulted in the fatal wounding of the suspect, who was declared dead upon arrival at the Dr. Jorge P. Royeca Hospital, he said.
Recovered from Mislay were a caliber .38 revolver loaded with three live bullets and two sachets of suspected shabu.
Also found at the scene were three fired cartridges from a caliber .38 handgun, a deformed fired bullet, and four 9mm. fired cartridge cases, police said.
“The suspect was listed as a drug courier and considered as a high-value target drug personality,” Pascual said in an interview.
In South Cotabato, police operatives arrested in separate manhunt operations two "most wanted" persons in Tupi town.
