MANILA, Philippines – Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rolando Bautista on Tuesday said his department has given a total of P94.04 billion to 17.52 million beneficiaries of the social amelioration program (SAP).

Bautista said this constitutes 96.35 percent out of the targeted 18 million beneficiaries of the SAP program.

He also said 1,472 out of 1,634 local
government units (LGUs) have already completed their distributions under the program.
Bautista added that 659 LGUs have already submitted their liquidation reports and 280 LGUs are near completion.

“As a whole, ang makikita natin ngayon sa mga areas ay magwrawrap up na ng payout ang ating mga local na pamahalaan at sabay na rin dito yung pag-ayos nila ng mga liquidation reports (As a whole, we can see that our local government units are wrapping up their payouts and at the same time, they are also handling their liquidation reports),” he said in an interview with PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar.

Bautista said there will be an allocated budget for waitlisted persons and people who did not receive monetary assistance during the SAP distribution. It is uncertain though when it will be given.
