OLONGAPO CITY – Some PHP12.5 million worth of shabu was confiscated and four drug suspects were arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Balic-Balic Road, Barangay Sta. Rita, here on Tuesday.

Col. Benjamin Sembrano, director of the Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO), said a joint buy-bust operation conducted by the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit and City Intelligence Branch led to the arrest of suspects identified as Archie Boy Usenar, John Mark Serica, Jeff Dennon Rivera and Michael Salac, all residents of this city.

Sembrano said confiscated from them were 39 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an approximate weight of 1,250.65 grams and PHP12.5 million street value, and the buy bust money.

He said the arrested suspects and the seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Olongapo City Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination.

Sembrano said cases for violation of Section 5, 26B in relation to Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 were being prepared against the suspects at the Olongapo City Prosecutor’s Office.

He lauded the operating team for the confiscation of the biggest drug haul here this year amid the general community quarantine.

“The unwavering efforts of the OCPO to eradicate illegal drug activities will remain steadfast despite the general community quarantine,” he said in a statement. (PNA)
